Dear Members of the Advisory Group for construction,

It is our pleasure to inform you that DG GROW has launched the "Build Europe with us" video competition. The goal of this competition is to attract young talents to the construction sector.

On behalf of Marzena Rogalska, Head of Unit, I would like to kindly invite you to help us reach out to a broader audience to make this project a success. We would be grateful if you could spread this information across your contacts, at all levels, and also through your newsletters, social media, etc. The contractor who implements this project has created a dedicated a communication toolbox for this purpose. If you are willing to use these tools to disseminate the information, please contact Christian Hauke from DG GROW, details below, who can provide you with 'ready-made' material.

The competition targets young EU citizens and residents aged 15-30 who are about to start studies or already working/learning in construction-related fields. We invite them to submit short videos showcasing their projects and innovative ideas on a dedicated website http://ec.europa.eu/growth/sectors/construction/video-competition/index_en.htm. Anyone according to the Terms & Conditions of the competition can submit for example a mobile phone video showcasing an idea related to construction. We have taken the initiative and created a teaser internally to promote the competition: https://youtu.be/1otI9wJIMco.

The competition opened on 10 March and will close on 18 May 2015. The winners will be announced on the 4th of June at the occasion of an inter-ministerial conference on construction co-organised with the Latvian Presidency.
